This upper dwelling of a renovated two flat recalls the traditional Chicago bungalow on the building’s exterior. On the interior, allusions are made to Constructivist and DeStijl architecture.
The unit is composed of colored forms which appear to have been dislocated from their original positions and collide within a white chamber. A single wall isolates circulation and service areas. A free-standing cube encloses the kitchen and supports a sleeping loft.
